A Warm Hug of Tips and Cheer!

Hello, my fabulous friends!

As the festive season twinkles on the horizon, we wanted to talk about a topic close to our hearts (and hormones) – navigating Christmas during menopause.

Don’t worry, you’re not alone on this sleigh ride. Let’s unwrap some tips and tricks to keep your menopausal symptoms in check, ensuring your holiday season is as merry and bright as you are.

1.Keep Cool and Carry On

Menopause and hot flashes are like mince pies and brandy butter – often seen together but not everyone likes them!. With the house bustling and the kitchen steaming, it’s essential we stay cool:

Dress in Layers: opt for breathable fabrics. If a hot flash hits, you can discreetly shed a layer.

Portable Fans: A small hand-held fan can be a lifesaver. Pop one in your handbag for quick relief.

Stay Hydrated: Sip on water throughout the day. I like to add a slice of lemon or cucumber for a festive twist! Tonic water is great for hot flushes (unfortunately without the Gin)

2. Foodie Fun Without the Flare-ups

Rich foods and menopause can sometimes clash. Let’s make sure your festive feasting is both delicious and digestive-friendly:

Balance Your Plate: Enjoy your holiday favourites but try to balance them with plenty of veggies and lean proteins.

Mindful Eating: Eat slowly and savour each bite – it’s not just good for digestion, but for the soul too!

Watch your Alcohol intake: If alcohol triggers your symptoms, opt for festive mocktails. They can be just as merry!

3. Jingle Bell Rock Your Sleep Routine

Late nights and disrupted routines can wreak havoc on menopausal sleep patterns:

Stick to a Schedule: Try to maintain your regular sleep routine as much as possible.

Relax Before Bed: A warm (not hot) bath with lavender oil can work wonders.

Cool Bedroom: Keep your bedroom cool and invest in breathable bedding.

4. Emotional Well-being: Tis’ the Season to Be Extra Kind to Yourself

The holidays can be emotionally overwhelming even without the menopause:

Take Time for You: Even if it’s just 10 minutes of ‘me time’ to recharge your batteries.

Stay Connected: Reach out to friends, join our private group for support.

Mindful Activities: Consider yoga, meditation, or a peaceful winter walk.

5. Remember, You’re Not Alone!

Menopause can sometimes feel isolating, but remember, your part of a community, we’ve got your back!

Join Our Private Group for a safe, supportive space to share and learn.
